Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome and gain freedom from our hurts, hang-ups, and habits. CR is designed as a program to help those struggling by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through their recovery process. CR is a safe place to address destructive or compulsive behaviors, unhealthy relationships, addictions (drugs, alcohol, food, pornography), anger, shame, codependency (addiction to people and control), past abuse and so much more. People can find freedom from any hurt, hang-up or habit that is making their life unmanageable.

CR meets every Friday at 6p here at the 325 campus.

What Happens At Celebrate Recovery?
THERE ARE 3 MAIN COMPONENTS THAT MAKE UP THE CELEBRATE RECOVERY PROGRAM:

LARGE GROUP – This is where everyone meets together for a time of Worship and to hear either a recovery centered Teaching or a personal Testimony of a changed life. We consider this a “shoulder to shoulder” experience.

OPEN SHARE – This is the time we break into separate gender and issue specific groups where each person is safe to share their struggles and victories with others who share their similar hurts, hang-ups and habits. We consider this a “face to face” experience.

STEP STUDY – It has been said that “you go to a meeting to feel better, but you work the steps to get better”. Step Studies are a safe place to work through the Jesus-centered 12 Steps and 8 Recovery Principles in a gender specific group. They are a minimum 7-month commitment and meet on different nights of the week. It's a place where the “why” behind addictions and behavior can finally be uncovered and freedom can be found. We consider this a “heart to heart” experience.

Celebration Place

Celebration Place is the approved children’s curriculum for Celebrate Recovery ministries for children ages 5-13 years of age. This Christ-centered curriculum mirrors the lessons taught in Large Group for adults. We refer to it as our “Pre-Covery” program. We strive to partner with parents to help break the cycle of dysfunction destroying so many of our families.

A night in Celebration Place is broken down into six parts:

    1.    Free Play: The primary purpose of Free Play is to offer children an opportunity to build friendships. Free play at the beginning of each night allows children to transition from the business of the day into Celebration Place.

    2.    Worship: Worship is important because it helps children connect with God. Children learn we show our love to God through praise and worship.

    3.    Teaching Time: During teaching time leaders presents recovery principles and Biblical truths in ways children can understand. As leaders in Celebration Place, we get to partner with parents in teaching children the principles of recovery.

    4.    Small Group: Using the journal page, we help children identify their feelings and the reason why they feel the way they do. As children learn to identify and talk about their feelings they become better able to connect with others, reducing feelings of isolation. Small groups give children a chance to share their prayer requests and to pray for each other.

    5.    Centers: In our centers, children learn how to apply the principles taught during the main lesson. A Center might be a game, activity, or craft to help children experience a main point of the lesson. This keeps the night fun and the children engaged.

    6.    Closing: In the closing leaders reiterate the main points of the lesson and familiarizes children with the Serenity Prayer by reciting a version of it.

Through Celebration Place, children experience the love of Jesus as they learn how to love themselves and others while they grow in their own relationship with God. They also learn healthy coping skills for life’s tough issues.
