Forgiven

1. Read Luke 23:34 together. As you picture Jesus being beaten, mocked, and crucified, yet still praying “Father, forgive them,” what does this moment reveal about the heart of Jesus and the nature of forgiveness and how does it challenge the way you typically respond when someone hurts you?

2. Read Matthew 18:21–22. When Jesus says to forgive not just seven times but seventy-seven times, what do you think He’s really trying to communicate about forgiveness and where in your life do you feel resistance to living that out right now?

3. Read Romans 3:23–24. How does understanding that everyone has sinned and is freely justified by grace reshape the way you view your own need for forgiveness and how might that perspective influence the way you extend forgiveness to others?

4. Read 1 John 2:1–2. What does it mean to you personally that Jesus is described as your advocate who pleads your case before the Father and how should that change the way you handle guilt, shame, or ongoing struggles with sin?

5. Read Colossians 3:13. When Scripture calls you to forgive others “as the Lord has forgiven you,” what would it look like in a real, specific situation in your life to take a step toward that kind of forgiveness this week, even if it feels undeserved or difficult?
