Receiving the Word of God
Jan 4, 2026 • Pastor Roy Mack
This message explores James's letter to persecuted believers scattered abroad, focusing on how we can truly receive God's Word into our lives rather than merely hearing it. James, the half-brother of Jesus and leader of the Jerusalem church, wrote with a no-nonsense approach about what it means to follow Christ authentically. The central truth is this: God's Word isn't just meant to be read, studied, or analyzed—it's meant to transform us from the inside out. To receive God's Word effectively, we must prepare our hearts by removing what doesn't belong there. God is more interested in our holiness than our happiness, and His Word is the means by which He shapes us into Christ's likeness.
