Praying Night and Day

Mar 8, 2026    Pastor Roy Mack

The message explored Paul's deep pastoral concern for the young church in Thessalonica—believers who had only received three weeks of discipleship before Paul was forced to leave. Despite being separated from them and hindered by Satan from returning, Paul sent Timothy to strengthen them and prayed for them "night and day." This passage reminds us that the Christian life is not trouble-free; we are actually "destined" for affliction as followers of Christ. Yet God provides what we need to stand firm: His promises, people to help us, His Word to build us up, and prayers lifted on our behalf. The sermon challenged us to build our lives on the Rock of Jesus Christ so we can withstand the storms that will inevitably come—from above (trials God allows), from the earth (opposition from people), and from mysterious spiritual attacks. Living in the "in-between" time before Christ's return requires us to be established in faith, growing in love, and pursuing holiness.
