The Power to Witness
Discussion Questions:
1. Begin by sharing the ways you saw the Holy Spirit working through you this past week.
2. Have you ever had a moment where you wanted to speak up about your faith but felt unsure or nervous? What held you back?
3. Read Acts 2:14, Acts 2:23-24. Peter goes from denying Jesus three times to boldly preaching to thousands. What do you think changed in him? And why is he willing to preach so boldly now as a opposed to the moments that he denied Jesus?
4. What does boldness for Jesus look like in your everyday life? Is it always about preaching, or can it look different? Discuss some of the ways that living boldly for Jesus should practically look like in your life.
5. Share a time that God gave you boldness to share about Him with someone else. Discuss the ways this moment impacted your faith, realizing that God will supply what is needed for you to share truth about Him with other people.
6. Read Acts 4:12. Peter says, “There is salvation in no one else.” Discuss how in a world that values many different beliefs, why do you think this message is so challenging to hear?
7. In this world that values so many different beliefs, what does it look like to share the truth with both boldness and love? What are some practical ways to make Jesus known in your daily relationships without it feeling forced or unloving? How can you be intentional about sharing truth with love this week?
8. Read Acts 5:38-39. Gamaliel wasn’t a follower of Jesus, but even he recognized that if this movement was from God, it couldn’t be stopped. How does that encourage you in your own faith, knowing that the movement of God cannot be stopped?
9. There are many times when sharing the Gospel of Jesus that people will reject the message. How do you handle moments when people don’t respond the way you hoped? How can we remind ourselves that success in sharing our faith isn’t about results of someone being saved in that moment but about obedience to the Lord in sharing the Gospel with others?
Challenge this week: Ask the Holy Spirit for boldness in a specific area of your life. Maybe it’s sharing your faith with a friend, inviting someone to church, or simply being more vocal about what Jesus means to you.
