It All Circles Back to Love
Discussion Questions:
1) What is your current understanding of the word "love"? What do you think that it looks like to love someone?
2) Read 1 John 4:7-21 together as a group. What does this passage of Scripture say about love? How is it defined? How does this passage help you better understand love?
3) Read 1 Peter 4:8 together as a group. The word "deeply" describes the muscles an athlete uses to finish out/win a race. With that idea in mind what does it look like practically to love someone deeply?
4) Also out of 1 Peter 4:8, focus on the idea that “love covers a multitude of sins.” Remember that we are all sinners and that regardless of who you marry they’ll have their own shortcomings that nailed Jesus to the cross. What would it look like in a relationship for love to cover a multitude of sins? Why is this so important in a marriage?
5) What have you learned about love from the discussion tonight? And what is one action step you can take from what you learned?
