Week 1

Sep 21, 2022    Pastor Kaleb Crabtree

1) Start tonight by discussing some takeaways from our service night. What did you learn about spiritual warfare? What are some questions that you still have that we can talk out as a group?

2) Read Ephesians 6:10-18 together. We are living in a spiritual battle with unseen things both for us and an enemy against us. Because of this reality, discuss the importance of being fully suited up with all of God's armor for this battle. What is the price that you could pay for showing up with only partial armor?

3) Read Matthew 4:1-11 together. What stands out in this text as you read through it? Specifically discuss what this text teaches us about Spiritual warfare? How do we see Jesus handle the attacks of the enemy? Discuss the importance of being in Scripture when it comes to Spiritual warfare. Also discuss where you are personally at in your Bible reading. How can this group better hold you accountable in your personal devotion time?

End this question by going around the room and sharing some of the Scriptures that you have seeded in your heart for when the enemy attacks.

4) Read Mark 9:14-29 together. Discuss this passage. What is this passage saying specifically in the conversation of spiritual warfare? What did Jesus say that this type of enemy needed to come out of the boy?

5) After discussing the passage together, talk as a group about the importance of prayer in spiritual warfare. Why wasn’t prayer the disciples go-to in this moment when trying to cast the demon out of the boy? Why is prayer often our last resort rather than first priority in our lives?

End this question by discussing your prayer lives as a group. What are the struggles in your own prayer life personally that you need to be held accountable?

6) End your time tonight by reading these passages of Scripture together and praying them as a group over one another and the difficulties that everyone may be facing.
