Community

Discussion Questions:

1. If adulting is about aligning ourselves with the truth that we are children of God, then we must realize how important community is to our walk with Jesus. Discuss the importance of community in our walks with Jesus. Do you think that community is important? Why or why not?

2. Read Hebrews 10:23-25 and Romans 12:4-8 together as a group. What stands out in these passages of Scripture? What do they point out about the importance of community?

3. Read Galatians 5:13 together as a group. Focusing on the words, “serve one another humbly in love.” As you think about this life group, what does “serving one another humbly in love” look like? How do we currently do this well, and how can we do this better as we do life together?

4. Read 1 Peter 5:8-9 together as a group. What does this passage expose about our enemy? How do we combat his tactics in the way we pursue community?

5. Our enemy wants to attack those who are isolated and not living in community with others. Can you think of a time that you felt isolated from your community and how the enemy attacked during that isolation? How did this affect your walk with Christ?

Take this question a step further and think about individuals from our group who have stepped away and are walking in isolation right now. Knowing that the enemy attacks those who are in isolation, what is the urgency for us to connect with them and make sure they are alright? What steps can we take to help reconnect with them?

6. How does living in a Christ-like community help us adult well?

Challenge: Read Galatians 6:2 together as a group. Put this scripture in front of you this week and commit it to memory. Reach out to some people that you know have recently isolated from your life group community and let them know that you love them and try to reconnect with them.
