Esther
Discussion Questions:
1. In this series so far we have talked about the lives of Timothy, Joseph and Samuel. What have been your main takeaways from each of their stories?
2. Read Esther 4 together. Unpack this text together. What’s stands out as you read through it.
3. Read Esther 4:13-14 together. Discuss as a group what it looks like to be “appointed for such a time as this.” In your own life, discuss how you’ve seen God have you in specific times and places for specific things, even though you may not have known it at the start.
4. Esther’s position before the king as you read through the story was God's placement and timing. Where she was placed “for such a time as this” had a far greater circle of influence for the Jews. Discuss as a group the current circles of influence that God has you placed in. Remember that in your Life Group circle every person has a different circle of influence for the advancement of the gospel. Discuss these specific circles of influence and talk as a group about the ways you need help from the others in the group to most efficiently make a difference where God has placed you.
5. Read Esther’s bold statement of faith in Esther 4:16. How does this statement of faith challenge you in your own walk with Jesus?
6. Read Acts 20:24, Philippians 1:21, and Philippians 3:8 together. Discuss these passages of scripture. How are they similar to Esther 4:16? Then talk this out as a group: On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your boldness of faith? Talk as a group about why you gave yourself the number you did and discuss steps in your personal life to become bolder in faith.
Challenge: Invite friends next week to The Well Friendsgiving - reminder we are starting at 6:30 and will eat from 6:30-7:30pm.
