Wanting What God Wants
This message takes us on a journey from isolation to inclusion, using the remarkable story of the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts 8 as our guide. We discover that God's heart has always been for the nations—for those who feel excluded, those who don't quite belong, and those who are searching for something more. The eunuch represents all of us who have ever felt like outsiders, coming faithfully to worship yet unable to fully participate. He was successful by worldly standards—managing the treasury of an entire kingdom—yet spiritually dry, reading about a God he couldn't fully access. But here's the beautiful truth: Philip's obedience to God's prompting changed everything. When we remain connected to Christ, He positions us for kingdom encounters that transform lives. The eunuch found himself in the pages of Isaiah 56, where God promised that even eunuchs—those considered perpetually excluded—would be welcomed, blessed, and given joy in His house of prayer for all nations. This is the gospel's radical inclusivity: no matter who we are or what our past holds, God makes room for us at His table. The eunuch's journey from 'dry tree' to 'joyful pilgrim' mirrors the transformation available to each of us when we truly believe and surrender to Christ.
