Week Two

Jun 9, 2021    Pastor Kaleb Crabtree

1 Read Matthew 5:3 before watching the video as a group. Briefly discuss what it means to be “spiritually poor” ?

2 Read Luke 18:9-14 as a group and discuss what stood out in the passage? Who is the audience in this passage and why is that important to us? Who are the 2 characters and what is different about them in the text?

3 In what ways do you find yourself slipping into the pharisee mindset of, “I’m right with God because I’m better than these people?” Have you found yourself in that mindset? If so, in what ways? And what are some steps to stop living and thinking that way?

4 Would people describe you as someone who is amazed with God? Think and talk about these areas : how you read the Bible, how you help those in need, how you give of your time, how you worship daily, in your prayer life? Take some time and get vulnerable about these areas and any others that may come up in your group, specifically asking “in this area of my life would people be able to see that I am amazed with God?”

5 What are you personally taking home from tonight's discussion? What are you most excited about as we go through our series, Citizens, this summer?
