Influencers Week 1

Apr 12, 2026

In a world obsessed with followers, fame, and influence, we're challenged to rethink what it truly means to matter. This message takes us into 2 Corinthians 5:17, where Paul declares that anyone in Christ is a new creation, the old has passed away, and the new has come. But what does that really mean for us living in our messy, complicated world? Just like the early Christians in Corinth, a city drowning in immorality, greed, and idolatry, we find ourselves surrounded by voices telling us we're not enough, that we need to construct our identity, earn our worth, and prove our value. Yet Scripture offers something radically different: our identity isn't something we build or earn, it's something we receive. We don't have to perform for God's approval or maintain an exhausting facade to be accepted. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells within us, marking us as God's beloved children. Our past mistakes don't disqualify our future, and our worth isn't up for debate. It's already been established by the One who created us. This isn't just encouragement; it's a fundamental truth that changes everything about how we approach influence, leadership, and making a difference in the world around us.
