Influencers Week 2

Apr 19, 2026

This message challenges us to rethink what true influence really means in our daily lives. Drawing from the Apostle Paul's letters to young leaders Timothy and Titus, we discover that influence isn't about age, popularity, or social media following, it's about character and integrity. The core truth is beautifully simple yet profoundly challenging: our lives must match our words. When Paul told Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:12 not to let anyone despise his youth but instead to set an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, he was revealing that leadership doesn't require a platform, it requires authenticity. We're reminded that every one of us already has influence in our homes, schools, teams, and friend groups. The question isn't whether we'll influence others, but what kind of influence we'll have. Will our private lives match our public declarations about Jesus? The message confronts us with an uncomfortable reality: when people don't see Jesus in us, they don't want to hear about Jesus from us. Our lives either back up our words or expose them as empty. This isn't about perfection, it's about alignment with Christ, allowing the fruit of the Spirit to genuinely transform us from the inside out, living a life where our words and lives line up.
