You're Not the Whole Body

In 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 the Apostle Paul compares the church to the human body — many members, each uniquely designed, all belonging to one body under one Spirit. Whether we struggle with feeling inferior to those around us or with looking down on others whose gifts differ from our own, Paul challenges both attitudes. God, in his sovereignty, arranged the body exactly as he chose — with intentionality and purpose. The church was never designed to be a room full of people competing to be the most important. It was designed to be a unified body, advancing the gospel unto the ends of the earth, caring for one another in love.
