Christian Responsibility
This is the concluding section of Paul's three-part teaching on Christian liberty found in 1 Corinthians 10:14-33. Drawing from the broader outline of the past several chapters, the message examined three key dangers that threaten the life of a believer navigating the grey areas of Christian living: the danger of presumption, the danger of compromise, and the danger of legalism. Paul's central argument is that true freedom in Christ is never a license to live selfishly, but rather a calling to live responsibly for the glory of God and the benefit of others. The sermon challenged us to examine whether our choices build up the body of Christ or serve only ourselves, and ultimately called us to imitate Paul as he imitated Christ — willingly setting aside personal rights and liberties for the sake of winning souls and honoring God in all things.
