The Table Tells the Story
Oct 3, 2026 • Pastor Jamey Winters
In 1 Corinthians 11:17-34, Paul confronts a congregation that had allowed selfishness, division, and spiritual carelessness to corrupt the Lord's Supper. What was meant to display the grace, sacrifice, love, and unity of Jesus had instead become a reflection of their pride and social divisions. The message challenged us to recover the full meaning of Communion by looking in four directions every time we come to the table — backward to the cross, inward at our own hearts, outward at the people around us, and forward to the return of Christ. The central call was simple but urgent: Remember. Not merely as a historical fact, but as a living reality that shapes how we think, how we treat one another, and how we face each day.
